I found a site where you can write book reviews and get free books. You don’t get paid directly but you can use them as article ideas and put the reviews on your blog or other site and get good views from it. The website is called Book Pleasures. www.bookpleasures.com and the man who runs the site is really nice. I emailed him yesterday letting him know I was interested and he was emailing me back within five minutes. He takes the time to explain how the process works and he helps you with anything you need help with.

I figure I will get a few things out of doing these reviews. Free books to enjoy, article ideas, post the review on Associated Content and my blog, and a byline for when I find that paying book review job that I have always wanted. It is a win-win situation for me.

The process is simple. You just go to www.bookpleasures.com and get Norm’s email address. You then email him that you are interested in doing book reviews for his website. You send him a couple of writing samples and he emails you back asking for a short bio of yourself and a picture if you have one. He then sends you the standard request form he wants you to use when requesting books.

Once he gets book review requests from authors or PR people, he forwards them on to everyone on his mailing list. You reply back if you are interested and he lets you know if you get the o.k or not. Then you send an email to the author or the PR person and one to him with a request to review their book. You have to add a bio of yourself in those emails too and your mailing address. You also have to let them know where you will be posting the reviews, on your website or blog. The review first goes on his website and then you can re-write it to put it on your own website or blog. Then you just sit back and wait on your books to arrive. Simple.

The request form is easy once you get the hang of it. You use the standard request form and add your bio and where you will be posting the book review. You also have to let them know how long you think it will take you to do the review. They don’t want it to take any longer than 3 months. If you are an avid reader that should be no problem. Just copy, paste and save a copy of the request form and every time you have to send a new one out, just change the author nae and book title and hit send. It’s that simple.
