Trying to come up with an idea for a Fantasy story
The current contest theme for the Accentuate Writers Forum is Fantasy and I cannot think of one good idea for it. I am so jealous that all of my friends on there are able to come up with an idea but I guess my imagination is not as good. Or perhaps it is because I am more of a horror writer than anything else. Horror is my genre and I can come up with lots of ideas for that but not Fantasy. Sci Fi I can do too, maybe but not Fantasy.
I have tried everything to come up with an idea. I have tried writing prompts, story generators, and anything else I coulc think of. I got nothing! When I think of Fantasy I think about elves, dragons, giants, and magic. I think of the movie The Last Mimzy ot the Harry Potter movies. My friends keep telling me not to think of those things but to just think of the conflict within the story. I still can’t do it. Maybe you Fantasy writers and readers can help me. If any Fantasy writers and readers are reading this and you can give me advice on how to come up with an idea, please leave me a comment. I will very much appreciate it because I love entering these contests and it will be a shame if I can’t enter this one because I am stumped.
