I am only 28 years old and I had to sign up for social security because of Bi Polar Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder. I signed up four years ago and I have been fighting them ever since.

The reason why I had to sign up was because it was the only way I could get a medical card to pay for the meds I need. I needed medication for mood swings and for my nerves. You see, I can’t be around a ton of people without having a panic attack. I also can’t get along with others without medication to elevate my moods.

Before I got on the medication for the social anxiety I couldn’t even go to Wal-Mart to grocery shop without having a severe panic attack. I am not cured, not even close, but I can now go to Wal-Mart and do my shopping without having a severe panic attack. I still have panic attacks but not as bad. I can’t function without the meds I am on.

The meds I am on are Zoloft, Abilify, and Klonopin. I used to be on Seroquel but they made me sleep too much so I asked to be taken off and put on Abilify. The doctor is weaning me off of the Seroquel because it is one medication you can not quit taking suddenly. I am doing good so far on these new meds. I talked to my lawyer last week and she said I can expect a Social Security hearing by May and I can expect my money by June or July. This will be the second hearing I have been to and at least this time I was smart enough to hire a lawyer. Last time I thought I could do it myself, yeah right. I was denied right away.

When and if I do get approved after the hearing I will get a lump sum of money. I have plans for that lump sum of money. We are going to fix up our trailer, our property, get a car, and fence in the yard for the dogs. I hope I get it but until then I will continue to work online to help make ends meet. Even after I get it I will work online. You are allowed to make so much money while collecting social security benefits.

I have to call my lawyer back in May to see if she knows anything new. I will post again once I find out something.
